WebDwarfs need very little food. They eat about 10 times a year (give or take). That means for each dwarf you need 10 tiles of food for an entire year's worth of food. However, only 10% of your dwarfs will want to eat at any given time, so keeping only 2 months worth of food on hand at any given time is really enough. That's 2 tiles per dwarf.
