The battens are stained red to demonstrate compliance with the standard. The stable block was re-roofed using a combination of new and old clay tiles. John Brash Webevery single batten (yes, every one) which claims to be a “BS batten” is properly stamped with all of the relevant details that BS 5534:2014 says it must have on it.
