WebBioC: A Minimalist Approach to Interoperability for Biomedical Text Processing. BioC is a simple format to share text data and annotations. It allows a large number of different annotations to be represented. We provide simple code to hold this data, read it and write it back to XML, and perform some sample processing. Webacronym-type abbreviations. An abbreviation-tagged literature corpus, called Medstract gold standard corpus, was used to evaluate the system. MBA achieved a recall of 88% at the precision of 91% on the Medstract gold-standard EVALUATION Corpus. Conclusion: We present a new literature mining system MBA for extracting biomedical abbreviations.
