WebMay 25, 2011 · NEVER, EVER do a 1st to 2nd shift in the burnout with a TH-400. You will blow the sprag apart. Always start it in 2nd gear if you have a manual valve body. If not, I would suggest staying in first gear. It should be easy for any car to start a burnout in second since the tires are wet from the water in the water box.

Second gear on the M21 would be 1.64, multiply that by 3.73 and you get 6.12:1.
